Egypt...

"I will stir up Egyptian against Egyptian--brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom." -Isaiah 19:2

I have not yet been to Egypt, but intend to go.

When I was in Israel- I was asked by a man named Rabbi David, to

"Pray for the peace of Israel when you go back home."

Rabbi David, I am praying for you today...and all of those who live in Israel.

I am praying especially for your Egyptians neighbors.

I am also thinking of the freedom and security we have and take so easily for granted.

God, As only You can....I ask that you will continue to protect Israel and bring peace to the Middle East.

In God We Trust...

Left, right or middle...no matter which side you "sit" on,
they aren't going to save you.

Sure, they have power here...but not the kind we need in the long run.

In God We Trust.God, Thank You for Your Constant Presence.

Set Your Face...

This is the scene I walked up on Saturday afternoon....it was like a crime scene without the tape.

Me: Great game guys-
MoMo: Thanks.
Me: I like your new shoes. (yet, my mind said, "when did your feet get so gigantic?")
Mikey: They are for "speshthally for bathketball"
Me: Ummmm...what exactly is going on here?
Mikey: Duh.
MoMo: Our faces were hot.
Me: Ok. It's 45 degrees up here...where people are standing.
Mikey: This is better for us down here.
MoMo: We went to where the cold was...you know, so we could be super close to it.

"Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced.
Therefore, I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will.
I know that I will not be put to shame." ~Isaiah 50:7

What a great reminder...no matter what it looks like....or what other people are doing.....
to "go where it is."
It challenged me to ask myself where I can set my face to the stone today.

God, Thank you for meeting us right where we look for You.

Spread The Word...

"Go into the world. Go everywhere and announce the Message of God's Good News

to one and all." ~Mark 16:15

This was Jesus talking to 11 of His Apostles....while they were eating dinner.
The Bible says, earlier in the passage, "He appeared...and rebuked them..."

Can you imagine? Jesus pops in while you are eating dinner....let's you have it and then commands you to spread His Message.

Well, guess what?
Although we might not "see" Him walking into Teka's or Madrid's or our homes for that matter...
but make no mistake-
this command is for all of us.
Today.

So, that only leaves one questions....what are you doing today to spread it?

God, Please give us opportunities, courage and love to "spread" Jesus.

Standing Stones...

Tel Gezer in Israel

These stones tell us that something significant has happened in this place.

The Hebrew word for "standing stones" is massebah and it means "to set up."

Although these stones are tall and quite impressive...their meaning is lost because there is no one to speak for them.

Peter describes believers as, "you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." ~1 Peter 2:5

Our lives must be different in order to be effective...otherwise we are nothing more than the silent stones of Gezer.

So, in order to be living stones- don't we need to live our lives in a way that shapes our;
Offices, movie theaters, schools, football fields, texts, emails, homes, churches, restaurants, conversations, families, dates, reunions, facebook and relationships.

Where are you standing today?

God Thank you for the reminder to be a living stone in all areas of my life.

Word....

“The Word was with God, and The Word was God” -John 1:1

How in the world do you describe Jesus?
John was given the task, the challenge and the blessing of writing about Jesus....no pressure right?

God in The Flesh...The Savior of the world....The Messiah....God's Only Son....in a word.

He chose, “The Word.”
Simple. Powerful.
"Be he a fiery verb or a tender adjective, he was, quite simply, a word." -Max Lucado.No matter what you are feeling today- make no mistake...He is walking among us.

God, Thank You for the lengths you have gone to in order to be with us.

Joshua 1:9

Is it possible for us to tone down the hostile violent rhetoric in our media.
(This applies to both and all sides of the political world.)

God has not been caught off guard by a senseless shooting.
He is not taken a back by misguided anger...He is still on The Throne.

"This is my command—be strong and courageous; Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1:9

God, Thank You for Your Promises that never fail.

The Voice...

"Jesus said, 'This voice was for your benefit, not mine.' "

Have you seen, or shall I say heard, this guy?
I think he is a living reminder among us....



God provides...
God speaks...

God, Do Not let us walk by You...and do NOT let us miss Your Voice.

Due Time..

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's Mighty Hand,
that He may lift you up in due time." ~1 Peter 5:6The 78th Psalm ends with a tribute to King David:
"He led them with the integrity of his heart
and the skillfulness of his hands."

Andy Dalton won more games and threw for more yards and touchdowns than anyone else in TCU school history.

However, it is not only a massive football legacy that he leaves behind...

it is his faith.

In a culture of athletes that put themselves first....
we have seen a champion for Jesus...A BOLD and TOUGH one...

No ifs and or buts about it....this champion is powered by Christ.

Looks like Due Time came on January 1, 2011.
